To all visitors he said: \u201cI\u2019ve got him. He\u2019s in there.\u201d Many came and left again, shaking their heads. They had not felt any fresh wind. Some asked him: \u201cWhat are you going to do with the empty jar?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And he explained with pride: \u201cWhen I need wind, I simply open the jar and immediately a cool breeze goes through the room. For example, when I receive guests in my attic apartment in the summer: \u2019Oof, it\u2019s hot in here\u2019, they groan, and I say \u2018Just a moment, that\u2019ll be solved right away\u2019. One flick of the wrist \u2013 and a fresh breeze goes through the room. Or if something burns while cooking, with one jar of wind, all smells are quickly swept away.\u201d Several said: \u201cThen open the jar!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But he answered: \u201cFor God\u2019s sake! Then all the wind will be gone. And what should I then do with the jar?\u201d The man kept the windows closed so that no stray puff of wind could blow the jar over and knock it to the ground. After his death, they opened the jar.<\/p>\n<p>There was nothing in it other than stale air. They opened the windows.
