A small venue – Icelandic Hypnosis Conference in Reykjavik on Friday May 29th 2026. All the presentations (and workshops offered) will be in English.
The theme of the conference is “Opening doors”. It is a multifaceted conference for those that are interested in the benefits of the use of hypnosis in serious healtcare and those that already have a basic understanding or expertise in the use of hypnosis in healthcare. The presenters are from most of the Nordic countries, UK, USA and the European mainland.
The presentations are on very broad spectrum including, storytelling, IBS treatment, AI, Ego state, Ideomotor signaling, chronic pain and loss, giving the attendants a view into the many different ways hypnosis can be used to facilitate and enhance treatment.
The presenters are:
Bart Walsh from USA
Hannes Björnsson from Iceland
Hans Dahlseng from Norway
Kathleen Long from Scotland
Marta Nowak-Kulpa from Poland
Olafur Palsson from Iceland (and North Carolina) – Keynote
Pia Puolakka from Finland
Randi Abrahamsen from Denmark
Stefan Hammel from Germany
Susanna Carolusson from Sweden
The venue is rather small and can’t accommodate a large audience. The participant number will be limited to 75 people. We can also host workshops on Saturday and Sunday for up to 25 participants at alternate locations if there is interest.
A special price at a good hotel centrally located in Reykjavik has been arranged for the dates 28/5/26 to 31/5/26. The Code is: GOM2025-20 at https://www.odinsve.is/
Iceland is a very popular tourist location but not as busy in May as it does become during the summer. If the weather is nice, Iceland is extremely attractive at this time. Icelandair has a special deal on a two-day stopover at no cost for flights between Europe and America.
The international flights to Iceland are through Keflavik airport (KEF) 30 minutes drive from Reykjavik. The easiest way to get to Reykjavik Central is by bus. It is well advertised and you will find it easily. You can either take the bus to the main bus station (BSI) and walk from there or take a shuttle bus to your Hotel. The walk to the hotel from the main bus station is 15 minutes.
Most of the presenters can offer a workshop [in addition to their presentation, on May 30] if that is wanted and the number of participants makes it viable for them.
Registering to the conference is done by email to conf26@dfi.is. We expect the conference to become fully booked and will reply with an answer about the status of your request very soon after your mail. The price of the conference is 250 Euro. Please let us know if you are intersted in attending a gala dinner, workshops by any of the presenters or a day tour on Saturday that we can organize specifically for the attendants of the conference.
We offer a student discount of 50% for up to five students that accompany attendants from academic institutions and welcome presentations of posters at the conference.
Kind regards,
Stefan
