Guidebook of Therapeutic Utilization
Upcycling Life with Hypnosystemic Therapy
What if the problem held the key to the solution?
In this compelling guide to therapeutic utilization, renowned hypnosystemic therapist and storyteller Stefan Hammel shows how symptoms, personal history, and even (so‐called) resistance can be transformed and “upcycled” into powerful resources for change. Drawing from systemic and Ericksonian traditions, he offers a rich toolkit of case‐based interventions to support individualized, creative, and effective therapy.
But this book is not a collection of ready‐made solutions. It is an invitation to enter each client’s world with curiosity, creativity, and appreciation—and to co‐create paths to transformation from the very material that once seemed immovable.
Bart Walsh, director of the Milton-Erickson Institut in Portland, Oregon, comments on the book: "As a master storyteller, Stefan Hammel presents the conceptual underpinnings of therapeutic utilization with a rich panoply of clinical examples… This orientation goes far beyond utilization and offers much for therapists at all levels of experience.”
