Seminar 6: Therapy structure – Anamnesis – Utilization: Transforming problems into solutions
First, we will teach you how to start a session in a helpful way and how to agree on therapy goals in such a way that their achievement is promoted from the outset. We will discuss the similarities and differences between the processes of classic systemic and hypnosystemic goal clarification.
Different anamnesis techniques are then demonstrated, i.e., ways of finding out how the problem arose or is constructed and what possible solutions can be derived from this.
We then show how we can use elements of the initial situation (e.g., symptoms, beliefs, and values) to achieve the target situation (utilization).
Different ways of gathering information about known and yet-to-be-discovered resources, as well as about self-constructed problems or problems attributed to other people, are tested. Possibilities for working in coercive contexts (clients who have come to therapy wholly or partly involuntarily) are discussed and tested.
Consideration is also given to how a model of the problem can be developed that contains solutions that the client can transfer to their own experience and behavior in such a way that the problem experience is reduced or resolved for them.
